Under Wraps, Questions, and Rewrites

The last few weeks, bloggyland  has been flooded with all sorts of simple ideas for valentine gifts. There are so many awesome ideas out there! Today I thought I'd show you one of the little gifts I'll be giving to the women's Bible study I attend. It's somthing I used to do to give out prizes when I was a Partylite consultant several years ago.

Isn't that cute? Simple and Sweet. And so much cuter than just wrapping them in the box fom the store.

They are really a cinch to make too. Start by picking out your tealites, and matching them to a sturdy scrapbooking paper and curly ribbon. Then place the tealites on the paper and mark where you need to cut. Be sure an leave pleny of room on either side so they aren't too squished in there.

Cut with a paper cutter or patterned scissors. I love the patterned scissors for something like this because it hides any cutting imperfections.

Then measure a piece of clear cellophane that is long enough to wrap around the paper and tealites once, plus a little more. Very precise measurements, I know.

After cutting, tape the long side of the cellophane to the bottom of the paper.

Place tealites on other side, carefully turn over, and tape the other end.

Make sure it's nice and snug so they don't slip off the paper.

Then cut several pieces of curly ribbon, tie each end, and curl. Be sure and spread out the cellophane ends all cute like a candy wrapper.

You're all set! Buy a tealite cup from the dollar store, and add some pearls, rhinestones, ribbon, flowers, burlap, stickers, scrapbooking paper, etc. etc. to personalize it for the person you'll be giving it too.

**** Q and A Time****

I have received a couple questions the last few days and thought that instead of just answering them individually, I would also answer them here... since I just know that you all are dying to know.

Q: I have that same bag of Poly Fill at home and if not for the 40% coupon, it would have been almost $5 for the bag! I wanna know where you're getting it for $2.99!
A: JoAnn's. There were two sizes - the $2.99 and $3.99 version. It comes in so handy when batting is just too expensive for a project!

Q: Do you twitter?
A: Not yet, but stay tuned! I have some super fun plans for another givaway that will involve my twitter debut.

Q: Where in the world did you find polka dot felt? I'm in love and must buy some.
A: It is from a store called Ben Franklin. There are very few still around, and I know some of my friends are jealous there is one near by. But I figure since there are no Hobby Lobbys around here, it's only fair that we are blessed with a cool store like Ben Franklin. Just in case you don't have one near by, I took a picture of the tag on the felt. The blurry website info reads: http://www.kuninfelt.com/

Rewrite time.

It seems that on my feature post here, I said that Barbara Jean's blog was called Treasures of the Heart. She very kindly pointed out that it is indeed "Treasures From The Heart."

Not "of."      But "from."
